SUN Loans supporting local Alliance churches

Cornerstone Chapel, CMA

Pompton Plains, New Jersey

Roofing

A SUN Loan from Orchard Alliance allowed Cornerstone Chapel to replace its roof, complete with warranty. Through this funding option, the church was able to tackle this important project the right way rather than continuing to make do with constant patching.

Lighthouse Alliance Church

Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

Roofing

Lighthouse had put off its ministry-critical gym project for too long. Rather than wait any longer to raise the funds or go through a refinancing process, they utilized the benefits of a SUN Loan and quickly had the money needed to finish this project.

About Cornerstone Chapel
Cornerstone Chapel, located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey is committed to be a part of each other’s lives – reading the Bible, praying together, holding each other up and experiencing Jesus in such a way that we are forever changed. Cornerstone Chapel serves approximately 100 members, offering weekly services, youth programming and adult opportunities.

Challenge
As with any building, there comes a time when roof repairs become too costly and the need to replace the existing roof is necessary. However, for many ministries, accomplishing this proves to be easier said than done. The existing roof had been patched for new leaks every time it rained, shoveled due to fear of snow accumulation along with other costly efforts on finance and time. Although the roof of Cornerstone Chapel was not going to last much longer, funding to provide a new one was limited.

Solution
Not having the resources to meet this need, nor the congregational ability to raise funding fast enough, Cornerstone Chapel’s leaders sought out loan options. Working with traditional banks meant a set payment plan with percentages that would make it difficult to make payments and meet regular budget requirements.

Becoming aware of Orchard Alliance’s SUN Loan option, Cornerstone Chapel chose to contact the organization’s lending team to learn more. During the conversation the Cornerstone Chapel team was asked to pray with the OA team over this need. From this point on, progress was made toward building a healthy loan partnership, which led to funding through an OA SUN loan. Cornerstone Chapel soon had a new roof under warranty and affordable loan payments that did not place additional stress on its congregation.

Lighthouse Alliance Community Church

About Lighthouse Alliance Community Church
The mission of Lighthouse is to follow after Jesus Christ and His example of Loving God, Living in community, Leading through humble servanthood, and Lighting the way, so that others might come to know the Father. Lighthouse is a vibrant and fun church body that is “Building a Place for a People” in the Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor area. They believe that God wants to reach their community with His love, and believe that He is using Lighthouse Alliance Community Church to do it!

Challenge
Lighthouse was trying to finish its gym project, estimated to cost $225,000. The church had raised $125,000 but needed funds to help fulfill project needs sooner rather than waiting to raise or refinance for the remaining dollars.

Solution
Having an existing loan with Orchard Alliance, leaders of Lighthouse reached out to an Orchard Alliance advisor who educated them on how a SUN loan might support their need. Lighthouse borrowed the maximum of $100,000 and appreciated the various options for payment to support its budget.
