Financial Coaching FAQs
What IS financial coaching?
Financial Coaching focuses on behaviors and mindsets relating to money, financial goals, and the tools needed to establish and maintain financial health. But it also requires you to take primary responsibility for the work required to get there. A financial coach guides you as you pursue the healthy financial habits that will help you achieve your short- and long-term goals.
A helpful analogy is to consider how a coach comes alongside an athlete. The athlete is the one on the field putting in the hard work of practicing and playing. The coach observes what the athlete may be doing right or wrong and offers suggestions on becoming more efficient, building strength, conserving energy, and preparing for adversity.
That’s what a financial coach does. Our goal is to help you grow as a thriving steward. We want to coach you in the financial habits and practices that build confidence so you can make financial decisions that bear fruit for you, your family, and ultimately Christ’s Kingdom!
What IS NOT financial coaching?
To better understand what Financial Coaching is, it’s helpful to know what it is not.
It’s not “Financial Planning.” Financial planning involves creating a comprehensive, long-term strategy for managing one’s finances. A financial planner typically looks at the client’s entire financial picture and creates a tailored financial plan to meet their current and future needs.
It’s not “Financial Consulting.” Financial consulting is typically more advisory in nature, helping individuals ensure that their investment strategy aligns with their financial goals. While we do provide these services for Alliance churches and ministries, consulting on investment strategies isn’t within the scope of financial coaching we offer pastors and ministry workers.
Who is financial coaching for?
This service is for all licensed U.S. Alliance official workers (pastors and ministry leaders).
How much does financial coaching cost?
Financial coaching is offered to help you improve and maintain financial health. These services are provided by Orchard Alliance at no cost to you.
What specific topics will financial coaching cover?
Orchard Alliance’s financial coaching provides guidance and education on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt repayment. As previously mentioned, this coaching will not provide advice concerning investments, financial products, taxes, or legal matters. Your financial coach may recommend that you consult with partner organizations or third-party specialists for these and other topics.
