In these very unsettling times, it’s natural to feel some apprehension about the future, regardless of your financial situation. If you have much, you may tend to want to protect what you have. If you have little, you may yearn for what you don’t have.

Yet Jesus exhorts us not to value possessions enough to seek them or to worry about them.

Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Our Father knows what we need and is more than able to provide.

As we serve God and not material things, we can be a testimony to the world that is obsessed with such things. By instead demonstrating a life of faith that “God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus,” we can be witnesses of God’s love and provision to a lost and hurting world.
